Yoder, Amanda B. Miller

Amanda B. Yoder, 78, of Shipshewana, died at 4:25 am on Sunday, November 22, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1942 in LaGrange County to Ben C. and Katie (Glick) Miller. On November 7, 1963 in LaGrange County she married Ervin M. Yoder, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are four sons, Nelson (Nicole) Yoder of Shipshewana, Ben (Anna) Yoder of Sturgis, Michael (Jill) Yoder of Shipshewana, Harvey Yoder of at home; six grandchildren; three brothers, Enos (Viola) Miller of Shipshewana, Harvey (Rachel) Miller of Spring Hill, FL, Chris (Lorene) Miller of Shipshewana; three sisters, Rosie Graber of Shipshewana, Ada Miller of Shipshewana, Lizzie (William) Yoder of LaGrange; sister-in-law, Edna (Ezra) Bontrager of LaGrange.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Atlee Miller.
Amanda was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 24, at the Lynn Stutzman residence, 1490 N. 850 W., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, November 25, at the same residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Homer Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury is in charge of arrangements.

December 17, 1937 - December 13, 2020
Amos J. Yoder, 82, Goshen, formerly of Millersburg, died 8:13 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Goshen Hospital. He was born December 17, 1937 in Reno County, Kansas to John I. & Edna (Yoder) Yoder. On Feb. 14, 1959, he married Goldie (Miller) Yoder and she died May 9, 2019.
Surviving are her children, Joan Yoder, Bloomfield, New Mexico, Carl (Angie) Yoder, Millersburg, Ralph (Bonnie) Yoder, Bloomfield, New Mexico, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a brother, Harley Yoder, Goshen.
Preceding him in death are his parents, wife, Goldie, son, David
Yoder, siblings, Anna Beachy, Elizabeth Yoder, Levi Yoder, Enos Yoder, Andrew Yoder, Mary Petershiem and Mosey Yoder.
Amos was a farmer and drove school bus for Fairfield for 35 years. He also worked at Forest River and was a high school basketball official. Amos was a member of Clinton Frame Church. He loved collecting all sorts of toy tractors and pedal cars. He enjoyed Bluegrass festivals, going to Florida and playing cards with family and friends. Amos had a ZEST for life and passed that on to people around him.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 and 9:30-10:15 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2020, with the funeral service following at 10:30 a.m., all at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 CR 35, Goshen. Pastor Linda Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Clinton Frame Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to BIC Overcomers, 240 Highway 57, Bloomfield, New Mexico 87413.

Yoder, Andrew E.
September 24, 1923 - November 7, 2020
Andrew E. Yoder was born September 24, 1923 in Custer County, Oklahoma to Ezra J. and Jemima Mullett Yoder. He passed away November 7, 2020 at the age of 97 years, one month, and 14 days. He was a faithful member of the Old Order Amish Church.
On October 31, 1946 he was united in marriage to Clara Herschberger. They lived in matrimony 59 years, eleven months, and twelve days. To this union were born four sons and three daughters; Joseph and Martha Lucille (Diener-Schrock) of Arthur, Illinois, Edith and Ervin Mast of Arthur, Illinois, Ezra and Ella (Gingerich) of Bloomfield, Iowa, Alma and Jonas Jr. Hershberger of Dover, Delaware, Leander of Bloomfield, Ruth and Reuben Hershberger of Seymour, Iowa, Joni and Rosa (Mishler-Yoder) of Homer, Michigan. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, one step-grandson, 59 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Benedict and Elizabeth of Garnett, Kansas, Jonas and Wilma of Goshen, Indiana, Ezra Jr. and Fern of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. (Eli) Katie Hershberger of Lexington, Ohio, Mrs. (Jacob) Lena Miller of Lagrange, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; two daughters-in-law; four grandsons; and a sister, Alma.
Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 17515 Kiwi Ave, Bloomfield. Visitation was held on Sunday evening. Andrew will be buried in Indiana following a funeral on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in Kokomo, Indiana. Burial will be at the Christner Cemetery. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is assisting the family.

June 9, 1954 - January 27, 2020
Barbara Ann Yoder, age 65, of Nappanee died at 4:31 am, Monday, January 27, 2020 at her home following a short illness of cancer. She was born June 9, 1954 in Wabash to Perry E. and Anna Mae (Mast) Yoder. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Miss Yoder is survived by sisters, Mary Alice (Glen) Helmuth, Etna Green, Susan Kay (John) Borkholder, Frieda Arlene (Jonathan) Borkholder, both of Nappanee; and 10 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry E. and Anna Mae Yoder; brother, Danny Lee Yoder; niece, Cynthia Borkholder; and nephews, Titus Helmuth, Perry Lynn, Marcus Dean and Joseph Borkholder.
Family and friends may call after 2 pm, Tuesday, January 28, 2020 and all day Wednesday, Jan. 29th at the Steve Borkholder residence, 72990 CR 101. Funeral Services will begin at 9:30 am, Thursday, Jan. 30th also at the Borkholder residence. Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.

Chris A. Yoder, 85, of Shipshewana, died at 1:45 am on Tuesday, October 13 at his residence. He was born on July 27, 1935 in LaGrange County, to Amos J. and Katie (Hochstetler) Yoder. On November 15, 1955 in Shipshewana, he married Katie J. Beachy; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are six sons, Glen (Vera) Yoder of Shipshewana, Gerald (Darla) Yoder of Goshen, LaVern (Kathy) Yoder of Middlebury, Marlin (Mary) Yoder, Levi (Cheryle) Yoder, Christy, Jr. (Ruth) Yoder all of Shipshewana; four daughters, Rosemary (Allen) Bontrager of Middlebury, Waneta (Wilbur) Nisley of Goshen, Erma (Maynard) Yoder of Topeka, Vera (Larry) Yoder of Shipshewana; son-in-law, Ervin (Joanna) Miller of Ligonier; 71 grandchildren, 126 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin (Elsie) Yoder of Bonduel, WI, Monroe (Susie) Yoder, Harry (Sue) Yoder both of Shipshewana; six sisters, Anna (Edwin) Ropp of Kalona, IA, Amanda (Noah) Lehman of Middlebury, Polly (Vernon) Beechy of Shipshewana, Mary (Merlin) Lehman of Middlebury, Martha (Simon) Schmucker of Goshen, Elsie (Herman) Mullet of Sarasota, FL; brother-in-law, Eldon Nisley of Kalona, IA; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Yoder of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Velda Miller; granddaughter, Melissa Miller; two brothers, William and John Yoder; two sisters, Edna Schmucker and Katie Nisley.
Chris worked in the factory and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14 and all day Thursday, October 15 at the family residence, 1940 S. 1000 W., Shipshewana. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Friday, October 16 also at the family residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Mark Miller and the home ministers. Yoder, Daisy Byler
October 12, 1927 - July 1, 2020
Daisy Byler Yoder, 92, of Harrisonburg, passed away, July 1, 2020, at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community.
Mrs. Yoder was born, October 12, 1927, in Pigeon, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Jesse D. and Agnes G. Byler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Yoder, and four sisters and one brother. Three sisters remain living, Alice Souder, Harrisonburg, VA, Anna Mae Swartz, Michigan, and Arlene Gingerich, Pennsylvania.
On August 7, 1949, she married Paul T. Yoder, who also preceded her in death on December 16, 2019.
Daisy joined Pigeon River Mennonite Church in Michigan at the age of 11, and lived a life of devotion and love for her Lord that was evident to all. She spent the early years of marriage as a missionary, with her husband Paul, in Ethiopia for 21 years, 1956 – 1977. She repeatedly planned and packed years’ worth of clothing and needs for her growing family, managed four children through airports, and lovingly adjusted her family into life overseas. In Ethiopia, Daisy developed life long friendships with the Ethiopian women, ministering and teaching through sewing classes, language classes, crafting, Bible studies, and home visits, taking her children into the lives of the people she loved.
In 1977, Daisy and Paul returned to the US, and lived in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She served as Virginia WMSC President, a hospice volunteer, on the FIRST STEP Board of Directors, taught children’s Sunday school at Community Mennonite Church. Daisy had a deep compassion for people who are disadvantaged. She began Food and Hunger Concerns, of the Virginia Board of Missions, and in 1987 opened Friendship House. Serving as Director for ten years, she brought together volunteer support and churches to establish a place for people to receive meals and fellowship.
Daisy’s family was always the first priority in her life. Proverbs 31: “Her children (and grandchildren) stand and bless her. Her husband praised her. There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all”. Daisy was a mother and grandmother who offered gentle strength, her precious time, and constant prayers for the good of her family.
She is survived by her children, Debra Gullman and husband, Dave, Paul Yoder, Jr. and wife, Suzanne, and Judith Stroop and husband, Rick; as well as grandchildren, Laurel Joy Yoder, Valerie Ann Yoder, Joanna Desta Yankey, Adam John Yoder and wife, Stephanie, John Paul Gullman and Hannah Beth Gullman.
Daisy’s Memorial service will be private on July 18 at 2:00 p.m. and will be available to view, live streamed, people may access the service at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church website (harrisonburgmennonite.org) and interment will take place at Weaver Cemetery. Her memorial service will be recorded and placed on the Kyger website for viewing at a later time.

Yoder, David E.
October 20, 1936 - June 16, 2020
David E. Yoder, 83, of 8749 State Route 241, Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at his home.
He was born in Holmes County on October 20, 1936 to the late Eli D. and Katie (Weaver) Yoder and married Lydia J. Miller on January 30, 1962, and she survives.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Eli (Elizabeth) Yoder of Fredericksburg, John Yoder of the home, Barbara (Eli) Swartzentruber of Millersburg, and Mattie (Daniel) Swartzentruber of the home; 24 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn granddaughter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan (Jonas) Miller and Sarah (Jacob) Shetler, and an infant brother.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 9:30 am at the residence with Bishop Noah E. Swartzentruber officiating. Burial will be in the the Miller Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the family residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.

DeWayne Ray Yoder, 68, of LaGrange, died at 12:43 am on Tuesday, November 3, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1952 in Wolf Lake to Menno N. and Alice I. (Beechy) Yoder. On September 12, 1973 in Shipshewana he married Wilma J. Miller, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, Doretta (Mahlon) Lambright of Shipshewana, Donita (Marcus) Hochstetler of Middlebury, Dena (Michael) Schlabach of LaGrange; three sons, Dennis (Diane) Yoder of Shipshewana, Delmar (Rhoda) Yoder of Shipshewana, Dale (JoAnn) Yoder of LaGrange; 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; mother of LaGrange; four brothers, Wilbur (Cindy) Yoder of LaGrange, Elva (Leola) Yoder of Millersburg, Daniel (Vera) Yoder of Goshen, Mervin (Anna) Yoder of Goshen; three sisters, Nora (Merle) Mullet of Goshen, Marie (Glen) Kuhns of Middlebury, Dorothy (Ben) Yoder of Middlebury; brother-in-law, Chris (Alice) Bontrager of Shipshewana.

DeWayne had worked as the head of maintenance for E&S Sales, Shipshewana and he was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

July 26, 1955 - August 14, 2020
Mrs. Dorothy E. Miller Yoder, age 65, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at her residence. Her outdoor funeral will be 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Calvary Mennonite Church with Pastor Henry Nissley officiating. Burial will follow the service in New Boston Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Samuel Miller, Titus Byler, Matthew Byler, Jeffery Yoder, Jacob Yoder and Kendall Yoder. Her outdoor visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Dorothy E. Miller Yoder was born July 26, 1955 in Oakland, MD to Joni E. Miller of Roodhouse, IL and to the late Lydia Schrock Miller. She married Norman D. Yoder on February 16, 1978 and he preceded her in death January 27, 2019. She is survived by daughters, JoAnna (Donald) Schrock of Green Ridge, MO, Keturah "Kaye" (Galen) Schrock of Paris, and Phyllis (Ethan) Mast of Lincoln, MO; sons, Olen (Charity) Yoder of Mt. Olive, MS, James (Elsie) Yoder of Paris, TN, Eugene (Caroline) Yoder of Southaven, MS, Philip Yoder of Macon, MS and Dennis (Rose) Yoder of Paris; twenty-three grandchildren survive; sisters, Sue (Wilmer) Byler of Mt. Sterling, IL, Elizabeth (Lavern) Yoder of Marion, KY and Barbara (Norman) Yoder of Roodhouse, IL; brothers, Herman (Ellen) Miller, Belleville, IL, Perry (Ruth) Miller of Sterling, IL and Nevin Miller of Olive Hill, TN; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Mrs. Yoder was a member of Calvary Mennonite Church who fought an extended battle with Fahrs Disease.
Yoder, Edwin L.
May 18, 1929 - May 19, 2020
Edwin L. "Ed" Yoder, 91, of Kalona, Iowa died on May 19th, 2020 at Mercy Hospital Iowa City, at the age of 91 years and 1 day. A private family burial will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the East Union Cemetery. A public drive through visitation will be held Saturday, May 30 from 1:30 – 2:30 PM at the East Union Mennonite Church carport.
Ed Yoder was born near Kalona on May 18th, 1929, to Jonas and Lena Yoder. He attended Evergreen School. He later earned his GED and attended trade school to become a bricklayer. Ed married Esther Miller on June 3rd, 1951. They were married 59 years, until Esther's passing in 2010. Ed worked as a bricklayer in Iowa and Atlanta, GA. He was a member of East Union Mennonite Church and the Washington Township Optimists Club. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and driving his little red scooter around Kalona for the past several years.
Upon retirement, Ed and Esther moved to Horseshoe Bend AR, where they lived for 10 years before returning to Kalona. Before moving to Georgia, Ed donated blood for many years.
Ed is survived by 6 children and their spouses: Rodney & Yvonne Yoder of Camp Crook, SD, Bob and Deb Yoder of Kalona, Eric Yoder of Riverside, Melanie and Mike Schweitzer of Wellman, Beth and Jim Schlabaugh of Wellman, and Celia and Emmanuel Ffrench of Newport Beach, CA; grandchildren Megan Yoder of Kalona, Stephanie and Tyler Weers of Falcon Heights, MN, Austin Schlabaugh and Jared Schlabaugh of Wellman, and Gigi Ffrench of Newport Beach, CA; great-granddaughters Nora and Violet Weers of Falcon Heights, MN, and a brother Frank and Ada Yoder of Kalona. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Vesta Neale, Mary Jane Baker, Anne Miller, Ida Fern Miller, Ruby Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther in 2010, a granddaughter Allison Yoder, brothers Paul and Katie Yoder, David and Verna Yoder, and 3 half-siblings Chriss Yoder, Frieda Whetstone, and Mabel Miller.

Elizabeth L. Yoder, 76, of Shipshewana, died at 1:02 pm, on Thursday, October 22, at her residence. She was born on October 23, 1943, in LaGrange County to Levi and Amelia (Yoder) Raber. On November 28, 1963 in LaGrange County, she married Samuel W. Yoder; he died December 6, 2018.
Surviving are five daughters, Arlene (Marlin) Yoder, Alice (Wyman) Miller both of Middlebury, LeAnna (Jerry) Bontrager of Topeka, Linda (Elva) Plank of Arthur, IL, Dorothy (Calvin) Fry of Shipshewana; four sons, Willard (Laverda) Yoder, Lonnie (Ruby) Yoder both of Shipshewana, Ferman (Linda) Yoder, Gerald (Marilyn) Yoder both of Middlebury; 41 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katie (Harry) Miller of Millersburg, Amanda (Wilbur) Yoder of LaGrange; two sisters-in-law, Martha Raber of Shipshewana, Edna Raber of Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn (Richard) Bontrager; great-grandson, Lucas Jon Miller; three brothers, Joseph, Lloyd, and Glen Raber; sister, Ada Bontrager.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

April 2, 1936 - December 22, 2020
Ervin A. Yoder, 84 of Arthur, Illinois passed away at 6:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Illinois.
Private family funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Due to current circumstances, the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life gathering later in 2021. Ervin was born on April 2, 1936 in Arthur, Illinois. He was a son of Abe D. and Amanda (Helmuth) Yoder. He married Bernadine Albrecht on July 6, 1963 in Arthur, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine of Arthur, IL, four children, Michael Yoder and his wife Jacqueline and their children Isobel, Max and Theo of Lyttelton, New Zealand; Laurie Dayton and her husband Jeff and their son Derek of Tolono, IL; Jamie Yoder and his wife Debbie and their children Natalie, Elliott and Geneva of Chicago, IL; and Joy Manna and her husband Andy and their children Molly, Sam and Alice of Zionsville, IN; two sisters, Arlene Yoder of Arcola, IL and Elmina Yoder and her husband John of Bloomfield, IA and two sisters-in-law, Janice Yoder-Thomas of Arthur, IL, Doris Yoder-McDonald of Mattoon, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Amanda Yoder; four brothers, Kenneth, Clarence, Lester and Reuben; two sisters, Mary Alice, and Carrie; a brother-in-law, Milton Yoder and a sister-in-law Florine Yoder.
Ervin started in the construction business working for Amos Miller Construction around 1964. He joined with a partner, Jake Chupp, to form C &Y Construction, then merged with the Schrock brothers to create OE Schrock Inc. They built many homes and apartments in a 75 mile radius and operated many divisions within the company, such as Coach House Garages, CHI Overhead Doors, Schrock Drywall, and New Home Construction & Remodeling. He later formed the Horizon Home Centers including Ace Hardware and branching out to Monticello Horizon and Schrock Kitchen cabinet stores in Decatur, Champaign, and Monticello. He became president of ILMDA (IL Lumber Material Dealers). He served on the board for MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Association) for 9 years which aided in assisting startup businesses with small scale loans. He was very interested in the development of Arthur and was active in the Arthur Area Economic Development Corporation. He was a member of Rotary for many years, enjoying the weekly lunches at Yoder’s (the original restaurant he built). Ervin always felt that his best achievement was providing jobs for many people through the years, so it was painful to sell the Horizon operation and retire. But it also gave him the opportunity to take the whole family on trips to Mexico, Hawaii, the Dells, and spend some time in Phoenix as well. He was also able [to] experience trips to see our son, who has made his home in beautiful New Zealand.
The church has always been important to Ervin, for which he built the Fellowship addition on to the original church and served as a trustee for many years.
Ervin’s latest interest was joining board members who want to preserve the house in which he was born and that his great grandfather (Moses Yoder) built when he settled in Arthur in 1860. The home preservation is part of the Illinois Amish Heritage Center which was developed to save some authentic history.
His optimistic attitude served him well and it was difficult to see our big, strong husband and dad beaten down by COVID. With his wonderful work ethic, he always loved the mornings - so if you met him anytime of the day, he would greet you with “Good Morning!”

March 3, 1954 - April 20, 2020
Fannie L. Yoder, 66, of Shipshewana, died at 7:00 am on Monday, April 20, at Hope Springs Manor, Goshen. She was born on March 3, 1954 in Elkhart to Levi L. and Susan H. (Frye) Yoder.
Surviving are two brothers, Herman (Lydia) Yoder of Middlebury, Richard (Marilyn) Yoder of Nappanee; three sisters, Lydia Kathryn Yoder of Shipshewana, Vera (Melvin) Yoder of Middlebury, Inez (Daniel) Miller of Shipshewana; 25 nieces and nephews, 106 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jason Yoder; one great niece and one great nephew.
Fannie had worked at the Crystal Hope Workshop, Forks County Line Store, Middlebury and E & S Sales, Shipshewana. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Florine Mae Yoder, 90, Goshen, died 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born March 14, 1930 in Kidron, Ohio, to Sylvester & Martha (Bixler) Lehman. On June 2, 1956, in Ohio, she married Lester A. Yoder and he died Dec. 20, 2018.
Surviving are 4 sons, Keith (Linda) Yoder, Goshen, Bruce (Lauri) Yoder, Middlebury, Doug (Stacy) Yoder, Middlebury, Jay (Joy) Yoder, Charlotte, North Carolina, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, siblings, Ruth (Roy) Bontrager, Ohio, Larry Lehman, Colorado, Don (Ruth) Lehman, Kidron, Ohio, Jenelle (Jerry) Gould, Houston, Texas, Carol (Ed) Burkholder, Goshen, Geri Mumaw, Elkhart and Beth (Dave) Wiebe, Colorado.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Lester, daughter, Melody Slabach, grandson, Michael Yoder, brothers, David, Merlin & Elton Lehman and a sister, Doris Cartwright.
Florine was a homemaker and worked as a cook at Elkhart General Hospital and Goshen College. She provided foster care and was a schoolteacher for several years. Florine was a member, played piano and was very involved with Sunnyside Mennonite Church. She loved to quilt for her children and grandchildren. She baked cinnamon rolls for the 4-H Fair. Florine loved to garden, can food and was a great seamstress.

Floyd Yoder, six week old son of Eldon and Doreen (Eash) Yoder, of Goshen, died at 2:10 pm on Friday, September 4 at home after a battle with a rare genetic disorder. He was born on July 24, 2020 in Goshen.
Survivors in addition to his parents are grandparents, Glenn and Polly (Miller) Yoder of Goshen, Galen and Ida Sue (Bontrager) Eash of Middlebury; great-grandparents, Orla and Lydia (Yoder) Eash of Shipshewana, David and Linda (Hershberger) Bontrager of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Eugene Ray Eash.

Freeman L. Yoder, 68, of Middlebury, died at 7:15 pm on Tuesday, June 16 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, from the results of an accident last Friday, June 12. He was born on September 1, 1951 in Middlebury, to Leo F. and Anna (Wingard) Yoder. On June 10, 1976 in Nappanee, he married Lizzie J. Yutzy; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Steven (Marilyn) Yoder of Middlebury, John (Lorene) Yoder of Millersburg, DeWayne (LuEtta) Yoder of Goshen; two daughters, Susie (Nathan) Miller of Shipshewana, Anna Faye (Daniel) Mishler of LaGrange; 17 grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Mae Weaver of LaGrange, Elnora (David) Schrock of Pardeeville, WI, Mary Esther (Levi) Bontrager of Centerville, MI; brother, Melvin (Susan) Yoder of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Samuel Weaver.
Freeman was a store owner, bookkeeper and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Henry Joseph Yoder, age 86 of Nappanee, IN, died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Henry was born on October 28, 1933 in Kosciusko County, IN to Harvey J. and Fannie (Schmucker) Yoder. He married Wilma Miller on November 15, 1956 in Nappanee, IN and they lived in matrimony for 63 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Henry was a lifetime resident of the Nappanee area and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by his wife Wilma Yoder of Nappanee; daughter, Naomi (Lamar) Miller of Milford, IN; daughter Marietta (Elden) Troyer of Crofton, KY; daughter Joanna (Everett) Hochstetler of Nappanee, IN; son, Steven (Sharon) Yoder of Nappanee, IN; son, Lyle (Laura) Yoder of Nappanee, IN; 30 grandchildren; 79 great grandchildren; brother Harvey Jr. (Sally) Yoder of Florida; brother Seven (Dianne) Yoder of Goshen, IN; brother, Jerry (Rose) Yoder of Nappanee, IN; brother, Paul (Patricia) Yoder of Nappanee, IN; brother, David (Debra) Yoder of Nappanee, IN; sister, Fannie (Melvin) Miller of Freemont, MI; sister, Martha (Vernon) Miller of Etna Green, IN; sister in law, Mary Yoder of Nappanee, IN; and brother in law Delmer Mullet of Nappanee, IN.

Irene J. Yoder 91, of Galveston, Texas, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020, at The Meridian Towers in Galveston, Texas.
Irene was born March 2, 1928 in Arthur, Illinois. She was the daughter of Joe J. and Susana L. (Miller) Yoder. She was preceded in death by her parents (see above) and sister, Anna J (Albert) Kauffman.
She is survived by two nieces, Vi Janzen of Elkhart KS, Karen Pankov and her husband Peter of Sunrise Beach MO and one nephew, Willard Kauffman and his wife Jean of Atwood IL; three great-nieces, four great-nephews, eleven great-great-nieces and five great-great-nephews.
After living in Sarasota FL for several years, Irene moved to Goshen IN where she attended Goshen College and received her degree as a Lab Technologist. The then moved to South Bend IN and worked at St Mary’s Hospital. In 1980 she moved to Galveston TX where she worked as a Lab Technologist at UTMB.
She was always busy learning, which included a trip to Egypt, taking self-defense classes and Taikwondo, where she achieved a brown belt. Irene enjoyed art, reading, working in the yard and processing olives from her own tree. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteer work for the Galveston Chamber of Commerce and especially Moody Gardens.
A memorial service was held at The Meridian Towers in Galveston on March 5, 2020.
Internment is at the Hayes Grace Memorial Park, Hitchcock TX.
Yoder, Janet Elizabeth Weaver

Janet Elizabeth Weaver Yoder, 93, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away January 2, 2020 in Goshen, Indiana. She lived at Greencroft communities in Goshen, Indiana for the last 6 months.
Janet was born in Parkview, Virginia, on January 19,1926 to Henry (H.D.) Weaver and Sallie Wenger Weaver. Janet was the 4th out of 5 children.
She attended EMU for 2 years where she got a teaching degree. She taught school at Warrick River Christian School in Newport News, Virginia for 2 years before marrying Morris Harvey Yoder on August 10,1948. The rest of her professional life was spent working with her husband in various ventures.
Morris died June 23, 2018. Janet is survived by her daughter and husband, Bonnie and Jim Beachy of Hinton, Virginia; son, Ray Yoder of Union, Michigan; daughter and husband, Jewel and James Hertzler of Harrisonburg, Virginia; son and wife, Richard and Diane Yoder of Elkhart, Indiana; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hansen and husband David, Kirsten Beachy and husband, Jason Alderfer, Rachel Yoder and husband, Greg Dixon, Jenna Yoder and husband, Joe Hartman, Luke Yoder and wife, Meghan Borland, Kate Yoder, Nick Hertzler, and eight great grandchildren (with another on the way); her brother, Henry Weaver of Goshen, Indiana; many nieces and nephews, and a loving extended family.
Janet loved local and church history, hearing and telling stories and following weather. She will be remembered for her kind, sweet spirit and quiet, insightful presence.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 26 in Harrisonburg, Virginia at Strite Auditorium Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community at 2 PM. The body was cremated. Ashes will be laid to rest with her people at Lindale Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, Virginia where Janet was a member.

Janet “Jeanette” E. Yoder, 84, of Goshen, died Monday, September 28, 2020, at her home following her battle with breast cancer.
She was born November 20, 1935 in Goshen to Ora M. and Grace Naomi (Smeltzer) Yoder.
A 1957 graduate of Goshen College, Janet worked for a number of years in the family’s business, Yoder Department Store, Shipshewana, before accepting a service assignment with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) in Belgium. She then worked with MCC in Akron, Pennsylvania, where she worked with the SelfHelp Program, which has evolved into present day Ten Thousand Villages retail stores.
Returning to the family business, Yoder Department Store, Janet was instrumental in developing its fabric business, retiring as owner-manager.
She was preceded in death by both parents and two siblings, Leon and Elaine.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Marion (Meredith) Yoder and three nephews, André, Marcel and Cordell and their spouses.
Janet was a long time member of College Mennonite Church where a private service will take place.

Yoder, Jerry Lee
January 22, 1947 - December 19, 2020
Jerry Lee Yoder, 73, of Bridgewater, Va., passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Bridgewater Retirement Home. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Heatwole) Yoder and father of two sons, Jeremy and Adam.
Jerry was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Kalona, Iowa, to the late Duane E. and Ellen L. (Miller) Yoder. On Aug. 15, 1970, he married Elizabeth Jane Heatwole of Harrisonburg, Va., at Parkview Mennonite Church. They were married 50 years.
After graduating from Iowa Mennonite School in 1965, Jerry completed alternative service, through the PAX program in Algeria, for three years. He then attended Eastern Mennonite College where he met Liz. Jerry completed his education in 1972 at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he received his bachelor’s degree in animal science. Jerry owned and operated Riverland Poultry Inc. in Kalona, Iowa until 1999. During those years, he was active with the Iowa Egg Council, including serving as council president.
Jerry and Liz moved to Bridgewater, Va. in 1999, where he worked at The Home Depot until he retired in 2015. Jerry was a Ford Mustang enthusiast and enjoyed watching NASCAR, baseball, and basketball. He was known for his sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Jerry and Liz were frequent hikers on Skyline Drive and enjoyed visiting National Parks.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Liz; two sons, Jeremy and Adam; daughters-in-law, Staci (Witthoft) and Jenni Holsinger; five grandchildren, Oliver, Isaac, Ravi, Phoebe, and Justin. He is also survived by sisters, LaVerta Butterbaugh, Susan Gingerich, Jane Borntrager, and Colette Yoder; and brothers, Miller Yoder and Verle Yoder.
Jerry was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2015. His family is extremely grateful for all the care and support from family, friends, neighbors, church, Home Instead, JMU’s Community Caregiver Network, Generations Crossing, Bridgewater Retirement Home, and UVA Neurology.
There will be a private family graveside service. A virtual celebration of life service will be available on the Harrisonburg Mennonite Church website after Jan. 1, 2021.

J. (John) Edward Yoder, 87, of Goshen, formerly of Kalona and Donnellson, IA, died at 6:40 am on Wednesday, February 26 at his residence. He was born on September 3, 1932 in Kalona, IA, to Edward and Anna (Ropp) Yoder. On October 11, 1953 in Kalona, IA, he married Mildred Brenneman; she died October 22, 2009. On March 26, 2016 in Goshen, he married Treva Miller; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his second wife are his nine children, Steve (Debbie) Yoder of Moravian Falls, NC, Alfred (Alma) Yoder of Irwin, OH, Tom (Ida) Yoder of Donnellson, IA, Clair Yoder of Argyle, IA, Zonya (John) Stoltzfus of Atglen, PA, George (Lorene) Yoder of Leon, IA, Jason (Rose) Yoder of Bristol, Alesia Yoder of Strasburg, PA, Stuart Yoder of Kalona, IA; 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alton (Susie) Yoder, Marvin (Elizabeth) Yoder both of Crofton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents; four sisters, Viola Schlabach, Edna Mae Yoder, Dorothy Miller, Lydia Miller; four brothers, Sylvanus, Thomas, Lewis Yoder, and Christian Yoder.
J. Edward was a farmer, carpenter and a salesman. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church. He was a former member of Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church in Kalona, IA and New Boston Conservative Mennonite Church in Donnellson, IA. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. He was passionate about his faith and loved his family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:30 pm followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service on Friday, February 28 at Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church, Goshen. Services will be conducted by Pastors Roy Rhodes and Jonathan Zimmerman. Jamesport, Missouri: Jonas A. Yoder was born on March 11, 1926 in Kokomo, Indiana the son of Henry B. and Esther (Beachy) Yoder and passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 94 years, 7 months, and 11 days.
Jonas was united in marriage to Mary Ann Fry on March 8, 1951 in Plain City, Ohio where they made their home. Jonas and Mary Ann moved to New Glarus, Wisconsin in 1966 for several years; later moving to Jamesport, Missouri in 1973. They lived in matrimony for 58 years and 6 months until she preceded him in death on September 9, 2009.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann; son-in-law, Fred Gingerich; grandson, David Yoder; brothers, Allen, John, and Ezra; and sisters, Bertha, Fannie, Emma, and Ruby.

Katie Ann Yoder, 97, of LaGrange, died at 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, at the Healthcare Center at Waterford Crossing, Goshen. She was born on September 28, 1922 in Topeka to Noah and Mattie (Yoder) Yoder. On December 20, 1945 in Ligonier she married Monroe J. Yoder; he died November 5, 2013.
Surviving are three daughters, Edna (Pete) Eash of Shipshewana, Anna (Freeman) Miller of Brookfield, MO, Ruth (Floyd) Eash of LaGrange; two sons, Howard (Ida) Yoder of Middlebury, LaVern (Ann) Yoder of Shipshewana; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Susan Lambright of Goshen, Dorothy Borkholder of Nappanee, Edna (Alva) Miller of Shipshewana; two brothers, Daniel (Vi) Yoder of Fort Wayne, Amzie (Mae) Yoder of Nappanee.

Landon Daryl Yoder, 22 month old son of Bryan and Regina (Nisley) Yoder, of Howe, died on Thursday, January 9 at Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was born on March 6, 2018 in Fort Wayne.
Survivors in addition to his parents are brother, Austin Kade Yoder at home; grandparents, Joe Devon and Edna (Hochstetler) Yoder of Howe, Ora Jr. and Katie (Gingerich) Nisley of Topeka; two great-grandmothers, Sarah Yoder of LaGrange, Rosa (Lloyd) Yoder of Middlebury.

Leon Ray Yoder, 44, of Goshen, died at 6:38 pm on Monday, November 23, at the scene of a car/bike accident on County Road 38, Goshen. He was born on October 30, 1976 in Goshen to Larry and Anna Mae (Borntrager) Yoder. On September 12, 2002 in Goshen he married Vonda Yoder, she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Devon Joe Yoder, Loren Jay Yoder, Marcus Lyn Yoder; five daughters, Janelle Kay Yoder, Julie Ranae Yoder, Sharla Jean Yoder, Diane Marie Yoder, Kara Beth Yoder all at home; two brothers, Karl (Mary) Yoder of Goshen and Joe (Eva) Yoder of Topeka; sister, Margaret (Dennis) Lehman of Middlebury; father and mother in law, Mervin and Vera Yoder of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Loretta Yoder. Leon worked at Cedar Creek, Topeka and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Tuesday November 24, and all day Wednesday, November 25, at the family residence, 64430 County Rd. 37 Goshen. M. Marion Yoder, 83, of Goshen died Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Goshen Hospital.
He was born August 2, 1936 in Goshen to William “Bill” and Alma (Kauffman) Yoder.
On September 16, 1956 he married A. Regina Miller. She died June 10, 1996. He later married Wanda M. (Swartzendruber) Graber on June 21, 1997.
She survives along with a daughter, Myrna (Nathan) Yoder of Nappanee; two sons, Alan (Janet) Yoder of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania and Myron D. Yoder of Elkhart; a step-daughter, Heather (Jason) Potsander of Goshen; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice (Dennis) Risser of Goshen and Nancy (Cloyce) Nofziger of Archbold, Ohio.
Along with his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda E. Yoder, and two brothers, John W. and Charles Yoder.
Mr. Yoder was a chicken farmer. He drove a truck for Supreme Corporation and also delivered parts for Napa Auto Parts stores.
Marion was a member of North Goshen Mennonite Church. He was always keeping busy while volunteering at The Depot, World Missionary Press, or fishing.
Private family services will take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will be at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.

Yoder, Mervin "Eldon"

Mervin E. “Eldon” Yoder, age 90, of Nappanee, passed away at 8 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Heritage Point Memory Care in Mishawaka. He was born December 24, 1929 in Nappanee to Milo V. and Elizabeth (Frey) Yoder. On December 24, 1946 he married Ada J. Miller. She preceded him in death October 21, 2010. Mr. Yoder had worked for Heckaman Dairy, Wa-Nee Community Schools where he was director of Buildings and Grounds, and in his retirement he worked for Schwartz Electric. He was a longtime member of North Main Street Mennonite Church and more recently attended Living Gospel Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Lois (Clell) Kandel, Nappanee, Peggy (Joe) Leatherman, Syracuse, Jean Yoder, Goshen; granddaughters, Staci Kandel, Nappanee, Shana (Kevin) Fitzpatrick, Alexandria, VA, Jessica Leatherman (Shane Taylor), Chicago, IL, Angie Leatherman, Ft. Collins, CO; great-grandchildren, Kyla and Declan Fitzpatrick. He was preceded in death by his wife; sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Ray E. Miller, and infant sister, Edna Yoder.

Yoder, Mildred L. Yoder, 96, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died March 2, 2020 at the same place. She was born July 31, 1923 at Washington, Tazewell Co., IL to Walter E. and Matilda (Schertz) Yoder. On August 4, 1950 she was married to Wayne R. Yoder, who died April 23, 2002. Later, on Dec. 30, 2008, she married Dr. Dana Troyer and he died Jan. 25, 2012.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mary Lehman Yoder; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elta Ehret, Elkhart, IN and Mary Troyer, Orrville, OH.
A son, Michael P. Yoder, sister, Ruth Evelyn Yoder, and brothers, Harold Dean Yoder, David E. Yoder, and Paul LaMar Yoder preceded her in death.
With her father Walter's encouragement, Mildred learned to play the violin and played in a string quartet at Goshen High School that included her sister Elta, Mary Oyer, and Margaret Detweiler. She found much satisfaction when her son Michael learned to play violin and all three of her granddaughters joined the ranks of string players. Two great-grandchildren have also begun playing strings.
Mildred attended one year at Goshen College before attending and graduating from Mennonite School of Nursing in 1945, LaJunta, Colorado. She was a registered nurse and worked for Dana Troyer, M.D., Goshen, for 25 years. Like many other LaJunta graduates, Mildred felt a strong loyalty and a sense of identity to her chosen vocation of nursing.
Mildred was a member of the College Mennonite Church, Goshen. Along with her sisters, Mildred enjoyed piecing quilt tops, several of which were auctioned at the Mennonite Relief Sale. For many years she and her sisters attended the quilt auction and carefully tracked each quilt sold. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much joy. They have also been the recipients of many quilts and other handmade gifts.
Both Wayne and Mildred and then Dana and Mildred spent the winter months in Sarasota, Florida. There she welcomed her family for regular visits.
Memorial services were held March 2, 2020 at College Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, IN.
Yoder, Nathan Emerson "Nate"
August 4, 1955 - April 3, 2020
Nathan Emerson “Nate” Yoder, 64, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, at his home. Nate was born Aug. 4, 1955, in Meyersdale, Pa., and was a son of the late Paul H. and Martha Marie (Miller) Yoder.
On April 14, 1979, he married Miriam “Mim” (Miller) Yoder, who survives. Also surviving are Nate’s children and grandchildren, Paul J. and Katrina (Martin) Yoder with grandchildren, Isela Joy and Matias Benjamin, of Harrisonburg; Amelia Marie and Blake Showalter with grandchildren, Alex Ty, Amiah Grace, and Aleah Faith, of Dayton, Va.; and Evan Jay and Kelsey (Miller) Yoder of Blacksburg, Va.
Nate served at Eastern Mennonite University & Seminary for more than 20 years as a professor of church history and university archivist. He earned his MA and PhD from the University of Notre Dame. In 2014, he published Together in the Work of the Lord, a history of the Conservative Mennonite Conference. Nate was a former pastor of Dayton (Virginia) Mennonite Church. He was a member of Mt. Clinton (Virginia) Mennonite Church.
Nate was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor to many. He is remembered for his profound faith and strength of character. Nate blessed countless lives as a pastor, professor, premarital counselor, and brother in the Way of Jesus. His warm presence, grace, wisdom, and compassion will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Nate was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Yoder and Sheldon Yoder. He is survived by siblings and their spouses, Nelson and Pat Yoder of Narvon, Pa.; Michael and Delores Yoder of Grantsville, Md.; Ethel and Robert Zook of Allensville, Pa.; Juanita Jo Yoder of Springs, Pa.; and Marcella and David Baugh of Lexington, Ky.
A private graveside service will be held with Pastor Jim Hershberger officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to pay their respects may visit the Mt. Clinton Cemetery in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

Roger D. Yoder, 76, of Shipshewana, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family at 9:10 pm on Saturday, May 9, at Millers Merry Manor- LaGrange. He was born on June 4, 1943, in Sturgis, MI, to Harry V. and Grace Virginia (Schrock) Yoder. He was married on September 19, 1964 at 8th St., Mennonite Church in Goshen to Marolyn K. Hershberger, she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Sheila (Andrew) Auter of Gig Harbor, Washington, Shelli (Josh Perry) Yoder of Bloomington, Sharla (Shane) Weldy of Wakarusa; seven grandchildren, Adam, Olivia, Avery, Izzy, Ivy, Eden and Oakley; sister, Shirley J. Miller of Shipshewana; two brothers, Raymond (Jean) Yoder of Auburn, Stanley L. (Barb) Yoder of Angola, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn J. Waters.
Roger started his working career with his father at Yoder's Shell Station, Shipshewana, where he later became the owner/operator. In 1985 he became a licensed insurance agent and began Yoder Insurance Company, Shipshewana until his retirement in 2010. In his retirement, from 2010 until 2018, he assisted bereaved families at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury. He was a lifetime member of Shore Church where he served as the first church Moderator and also had taught Sunday School. He served on the Shipshewana Town Council for 30 years, 26 of those as the Town Council President. He was a member of the Shipshewana Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years, seven of those years serving as the Fire Chief. He was a charter member of the Shipshewana Lions Club and served his 1W service in Fort Wayne Indiana. He was an avid sports fan and loved following the Chicago Cubs, IU Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, May 13 at Shore Church to travel in a funeral procession tribute leaving the church at 11:30 AM and traveling through Shipshewana, pausing at the Wolfe Community Building to pay respect to Roger for his many years of community service. The procession will then continue to the Shipshewana Fire Department where it will then circle back South to make a final pass through town. A public Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date. Services will be conducted by Pastors Carl Horner and Nic Raber. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana. Memorials may be given to Shore Church or Parkview Hospice.

Sammie R. Yoder, 70, of Goshen, died at 3:25 pm on Sunday, June 14 at Goshen Health Hospital. He was born on October 25, 1949 in Kidron, OH, to Rudy C. and Martha "Mattie" (Yoder) Yoder. On April 1, 1971 in Tennessee, he married Delila Yoder; she died March 22, 1994. On June 10, 1995 in Goshen, he married Emma Hostetler; she survives.
Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mattie (Henry) Stoltzfus of Robesonia, PA, Melinda (John) Burkholder of LaGrange; six sons, Andrew (Ruth) Yoder of LaGrange, Chris (Rachel) Yoder of Manassas, VA, Rudy (Christine) Yoder of Goshen, Enos (Rose) Yoder of Sturgis, MI, Moses (Doris) Yoder of Millersburg, Sammie Jr. (Jennifer) Yoder of Elkhart; four step-daughters, Leah (Sam) Yoder of Columbia, KY, Dena Hostetler of Middlebury, Lena Hostetler of Goshen, Emma (Brandon) Hobbs of Indianapolis; two step-sons, Enos (Liz) Hostetler of Goshen, Michael Hostetler of Goshen; 28 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Yoder, Enos (Carolyn) Yoder both of Goshen; three sisters-in-law, Ada Yoder of Apple Creek, OH, Mary Yoder of Middlebury, Mary Yoder of Colon, MI.

Sammie was a member of Fairhaven Mennonite Church. He was a wood worker and for the last 30 years was a taxi driver for the Amish. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17 at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 13513 State Road 4 Goshen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 18 also at Fairhaven Mennonite Church. Services will be conducted by Pastors Wilbur Yoder and Phaylon Schrock. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Grace Haven Ministries.

Sarah Jane Yoder, 89, of LaGrange, died at 9:10 pm, on Tuesday, June 2 at her residence. She was born on May 3, 1931, in Ligonier to Joseph and Barbara (Hochstetler) Lambright. On November 4, 1948 she married Joseph J. Yoder; he died December 23, 1995.
Surviving are six daughters, Emma (Reuben) Brandenberger of LaGrange, Barbara Kay (Henry) Bontrager of LaGrange, Katie Marie (Paul) Brandenberger of Grabill, Fannie Mae (LaVern) Schlabach of Goshen, Susie Ellen (Mervin) Schmucker of Shipshewana, LuElla (Marlin) Bontrager of Topeka; three sons, Joseph, Jr. (Sue Ellen) Yoder of Wolcottville, William (Margaret Ann) Yoder of Woodburn, Freeman (Betty) Yoder of Ligonier; 54 grandchildren, 167 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; sister, Katie (Bob) Biggs of FL; brother, Ernest (Clara) Lambright of GA; sister-in-law, Sue (Levi) Lambright of Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Mary Margaret Brandenberger; three grandchildren, Marilyn Yoder, Mary Jane Yoder, Clara Yoder; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Yoder, Aaron Joseph Schrock; great-great grandson, Landon Yoder; four sisters, Celesta Mast, Alma Stanbaugh, Susie Yoder and Lydia Mae Miller; brother Levi Lambright.
Sarah was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Sarah Jean Yoder, 26, of LaGrange died at 8:22 pm on Friday, September 25, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after a nine month battle with cancer. She was born on February 25, 1994 in Goshen to Omer and Roseanna (Yoder) Troyer. On August 6, 2015 in LaGrange she married Ervin Yoder, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are daughter, Kaitlyn Rose Yoder at home; two sons, Isaiah Edward Yoder and Curtis Dale Yoder both at home; three sisters, Angela Kay (Larry) Troyer of Holmesville, OH, Jennifer Renae Troyer at home, Regina Fern Troyer at home; four brothers, Thomas Lee (special friend Sally Mae Yoder) Troyer of Arthur, IL, Merle Jay (special friend Arlene Yoder) Troyer, Aaron Jon Troyer and Ervin Ray Troyer all at home; niece, Michelle Rose Troyer; grandparents, Sam and Leanna Troyer of LaGrange, Clara Yoder of Shipshewana; lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Merle Yoder.
Sarah was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Yoder, Wanda May Martin
April 3, 1952 – July 7, 2020
Wanda May (Martin) Yoder, 68, of Carmelita Village, Orange Walk, Belize went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2020, in her son's home at Pantego, NC. after battling cancer for two years.
Wanda was born to George and Pearl Martin on April 3, 1952, in Ladysmith, WI.
She married Nevin L. Yoder on August 18, 1973. They lived for 16 years at Stone Lake, WI., and were a part of the Northwoods Mennonite Church. In 1989 they moved to Tony, WI., and attended the Shiloh Mennonite Church until they were asked to serve in Carmelita, Belize in 2004. June 25, 2020, they moved to NC. where she died surrounded by her family.
In her youth, she taught 2 years at the Linden Christian School at Sheldon, WI. then went to Mountain View Nursing Home in VA for one year. Her gardens and flowers were a joy to her, and they grew prolifically under her green thumb. Writing was also a talent she possessed, and she authored 3 children's books and many short stories.
But most of all she loved God, serving Him faithfully throughout her life. Wanda filled her role very well, supporting Nevin as he pastored the church in Carmelita. Old and young came to her for a listening ear, admonition, or sympathy.
Wanda is survived by Nevin, her husband of 47 years and 7 children, Sheila (Mike) Reinford of Robbins, NC; Luke (Bonnie) Yoder of Pantego, NC; Heidi (Chuck) Reinford of Eureka, NV; Jewel (Craig) Carter of Sheldon, WI; Ryan (Bridget) Yoder of Grantsville, MD; Emily (Wes) Martin of Sheldon, WI; Grant (Emi) Yoder of Montezuma, GA, and 39 grandchildren. Her mother and 4 brothers and 4 sisters also survive, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Jonathan; 2 grandsons, Jaxson and Hudson; and her father George.
Visitation will be held July 13, 4:30-8:30 PM at the Hope Mennonite Church near Pantego, NC. Funeral service will be at the Union Grove Church of Christ, 10:00 AM, July 14. Internment at the Hope Mennonite Cemetery.

Yoder, Willard Oesch
October 9, 1922 - April 5, 2010
Willard Oesch Yoder, 97, of Topeka died Sunday, April 5. Willard was born on the Yoder family farm near Emma on October 9, 1922 to Perry and Gennette (Oesch) Yoder. He lived all his 97 years in the same family farmhouse. At one time during the 1970s, the Yoder farm was graced with four generations of Yoder's.
Willard was married to his wife of 76 years, Maxine (Yoder) Yoder on June 13, 1943 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Topeka. She survives along with three children, Richard (Sharon) Yoder of Topeka, Elaine (Sam) Miller of Nappanee, and Gary (Carol) Yoder of San Luis Obispo, CA; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Bernis Wingard and a brother-in-law Harley Wingard.
Willard was a lifelong farmer with a heart for service. As a welder, inventor and craftsman, Willard created many pieces of needed materials over the years to fix, operated and improve the required farm equipment. He was available with a helping hand for a neighbor in need. His servant's heart was also evident by his involvement in the harvest fields of the Lord's work. Willard served his Lord at the Emma Church, where he was a member, teaching adult Sunday school, mentoring youth, and serving on committees to help gather in the harvest for God. Willard was known for his chalk drawing of Bible lessons presented in church and mission settings.
As an architect and builder, Willard volunteered to be part of mission service trips to Kentucky, Tennessee and Jamaica. Willard was missional minded locally and regionally. He served on the boards of Gospel League in Chicago and Faith Mission of Elkhart. He was active in the Mennonite Disaster Service, Youth for Christ of LaGrange County and Hope Rescue Mission of South Bend. He was instrumental in the formation of Habitat for Humanity of LaGrange County. Willard served as a member on the Westview School Board for 16 years. Being a sports fan, Willard enjoyed supporting his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren from the stands. His road trips on his Honda Gold Wing and his scooter were unforgettable. Willard wanted to ride his scooter to the cemetery, but they wouldn't let him. Willard never met a stranger and because of his quick wit and humor, conversation, then laughter, would most certainly follow.
No services are planned at this time. A private burial for family will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka. Miller-

July 2021 - Willard and Maxine Yoder Memorial Service
A public memorial service will be held for Willard and Maxine Yoder at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 25 at Emma Church, Topeka. A visitation will take place immediately following the service from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the Emma Church Park, directly across from the church house. Willard had passed away on April 5, 2020 and Maxine on May 22, 2021.

William Henry J. Yoder, 83, of Shipshewana, died at 3:15 pm, on Tuesday, March 24 at his residence, following a battle with cancer. He was born on May 13, 1936, in Kokomo to Joseph and Lydia (Yoder) Yoder. On February 20, 1958 he married Esther P. Miller; she died December 20, 2015.
Surviving are four sons, Allen (Evelyn) Yoder of Shipshewana, Norman (Annie) Yoder of Shipshewana, Orley (Dianna) Yoder of Goshen, Leon (SuEllen) Yoder of Middlebury; daughter, Mary Rose Yoder of Shipshewana; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Menno (Mary) Yoder of Goshen, Allen (Clara) Yoder of Jacksonville, FL, Andy (Mary) Yoder of Dalton, OH, Jerry (Alma) Yoder of Jackson, FL; sister, Katie (Robert) Miller of West Union, OH; sister-in-law, Esther Yoder of Sugarcreek, OH.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Chris Yoder and an infant sister.
William Henry was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was owner/operator of a blacksmith and welding shop. Due to current national health concerns the immediate family will be holding private visitation and funeral services. The community is encouraged to support the family by mailing sympathy cards to them at 1295 N. 850 W., Shipshewana, IN 46565. Services will be conducted by Bishop Homer Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

William W. Yoder, 84, of Goshen and formerly of Bristol, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020.
He was born November 14, 1935, in Lagrange County to Katieann and William D. Yoder, the youngest of five boys. Having lost his birth mother at 18 months, he never knew any other mother than Elizabeth, William D’s second wife.
On August 26, 1960 he married Erma N. Zook in Albany, Oregon.
She survives along with two daughters, Karen (Jonathan) Wyse of West Unity, Ohio and Barbara (Rodney) Stutzman of Centennial, Colorado; six grandchildren, Jenae, Trevor, Levi and Annika Stutzman and Shanti and Matthew Wyse; brothers, Ernest, Daniel (Mary), Melvin (Vera) Yoder, all of Middlebury, Joseph (Darlene) Yoder of Columbus, Ohio, Perry (Verda) Yoder of Goshen and Mervin (Phyllis) Yoder of Topeka; sisters, Edna (Henry) Miller and Mattie (Ezra) Graver, both of LaGrange, Mary (Orla) Lambright of Topeka and Polly (Mose) Yoder of Clare, Michigan; step-sister Ida (Joni) Schwartz of Berne; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Yoder of Shipshewana; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by infant son Jonathan Kent Yoder in 1962; brothers and their wives, Monroe (Clara), Roman (Fanny) and Samuel Yoder.
Bill worked in the furniture business and later for Burger Dairy. After retirement, he volunteered at Loveway. He was a member of North Goshen Mennonite Church and moved to Greencroft in 2012.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 9:30 until the 10 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be limited to immediate family and close friends. Masks will be required of all attendees.
Burial will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury.
Memorials may be given to North Goshen Mennonite Church or Loveway.

Wilma E. Yoder, 82, of Middlebury, died at 12:30 am on Thursday, December 17, at her residence. She was born on December 24, 1937 in LaGrange County to Emanuel and Nora (Miller) Schlabach. On October 31, 1963 in LaGrange County she married Abraham J. Yoder; he died June 27, 1996.
Surviving are six daughters, Naomi (Orva) Hershberger of Goshen, Rhoda (Lloyd) Troyer of Middlebury, Erma (Wayne) Helmuth of Bremen, Dora (Martin) Yoder of LaGrange, Norma (Glenn) Bontrager of Middlebury, Kristine (Jonas) Miller of Goshen; three sons, Marlin (Arlene) Yoder, Allen (Lou Anna) Yoder, Loren (Neoma) Yoder all of Middlebury; 38 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; three sisters, Mable (Eli) Miller of Goshen, Viola (Ervin) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Alice (Elmer) Yoder of Millersburg; brother, Omer (Anna Mae) Schlabach of Middlebury; three sisters-in-law, Beulah Schlabach of Middlebury, Fannie Schlabach of Goshen, Katie Schlabach of Princeton, MO.

Jonas J. Yutzy, age 96 years, 8 months, 29 days. Peacefully passed away June 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born to Jacob and Katie (Troyer) Yutzy on September 9, 1923. He was married to Katie (Whetstone) Miller on January 9, 1988. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Mary (late Andy) Miller, Fredrickstown, OH, Sarah Yutzy and Katie Yutzy both of Plain City, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Edna (Dan) Helmuth, Amanda (Ralph) Kramer, Emma Yutzy; and 2 brothers, Gideon and Eli Yutzy; a stepson, Emanuel Miller; a grandson, Elson Quevedo; and granddaughter-in-law, Ellen (Yoder) Eichorn.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at United Bethel Mennonite Church, 11342 Lafayette-Plain City Rd, Plain City, OH 43064 where visitation will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday June 9, 2020. Burial will follow at Canaan Fellowship Church Cemetery.

Calvin A. Zehr, 86, of Goshen, died Friday, June 19, 2020, at The Maples.
He was born January 7, 1934 in Lowville, New York to Aaron and Pearl (Reyn) Zehr.
On October 23, 1965 he married Emma Keim in Goshen.
She survives along with a son, David A. (Lynne) Zehr of Goshen; two grandchildren, Elizabeth “Ellie” and Nicholas “Nick”; a sister, Jane (Melvin) Birky of Littleton, Colorado and a brother, Melvin (Norma) Zehr of Lowville, New York.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hilton Zehr and his wife, Maryhelen and sisters, Vivian Stoffel and her husband, Louis and Mary Lehman and her husband, Addison.
A Goshen resident since 1958, Cal started Zehr Construction in 1968 and retired in 1999.
He was a member of 8th Street Mennonite Church and a 40-year member of Maplecrest Country Club and it’s Monday night league.
Cal served in voluntary service for two years at the Syracuse Hospital in Syracuse, New York. He was a 16-year school board member for the Middlebury Community Schools and volunteered as a construction consultant for AMBS, Mennonite Church USA and for the one room schoolhouse at Bonneyville.
A private graveside service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery and a memorial service will be held later in the fall.
Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be given to 8th Street Mennonite Church.
Zehr, Ramona M. Lyndaker, 90, of Beaver Falls, Lewis Co., NY died March 1, 2020 at the same place. She was born March 15, 1929 at Croghan, Lewis Co., NY to Reuben and Adah L. (Lehman) Lyndaker. On June 8, 1948 at New Bremen, Lewis Co., NY she was married to Walter E. Zehr, who died May 14, 2005.
Surviving are children, Jay and Joyce Zehr; Gayle and Jay Musser; Vern and Susan Zehr; Roger and Corinne Zehr; and Colin and Patti Zehr; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Muriel Smoker of New Holland, PA; Rhea Hunkins of Lowville; Sharon and Wilbur Moser of Lowville; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Lyndaker of Lowville; and Eydie Lyndaker of Lowville; and Edith Horst of Florida.
Brothers Elwood, Warren, and Kermit Lyndaker; and a sister, LaJune Lehman preceded her in death.
She was a member of First Mennonite Church, New Bremen and was active in the church’s sewing circle and senior fellowship. She was a past Sunday school teacher and past vacation bible school teacher. After her retirement, Ramona was a volunteer for office of the aging. With a true gift of hospitality, she enjoyed visiting and entertaining her family and friends whether they are close by or from a distance. She also enjoyed reading and baking.
Memorial services were held at First Mennonite Church of New Bremen, New Bremen, NY with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

June 18, 1958 - November 25, 2020
ELKHART — Terrence D. Zehr, 62, passed away Nov. 25, 2020, at home with his family by his side, after walking with cancer for 14 years.
He was born in Peoria, Illinois, on June 18, 1958, to John and Betty Zehr, the oldest of four children. In 1990 he married Cheryl J. Troyer and together they have two children, David and Justin Zehr. A graduate of Goshen College, Western Michigan University and Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Terry was a longtime pastor serving churches in Kansas and Indiana.
Terry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Zehr of Elkhart; sons David Zehr of Washington, D.C., and Justin Zehr of Elkhart; a brother, Randy (Cathy) Zehr of Columbus, Indiana; sister Rhonda (Charles) Gibson of Champaign, Illinois, and sister-in-law, Usha Barwale Zehr of Dawalwadi, India; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brent E. Zehr.
Terry enjoyed God’s creation, whether found in nature or in people. Quick with a smile, Terry enjoyed the laughter that is found in the mystery of life. Called by God at a young age to serve God in the church, he was blessed by the wholeness and courage God brought to his life to be a minister of God's grace. He will be missed by many.
Cremation has taken place and a service of celebration and fellowship will take place.

Alice H. Zimmerman, 75, of Hahnstown Road, Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at her home.
Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Aaron R. and Minnie N. (Hoover) Zimmerman.
She was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Alice is survived by six brothers and four sisters, Cora H. Kilmer of Versailles, MO, Elam H. Zimmerman of Narvon, Elizabeth H. Zimmerman of Ephrata, Edwin H. (Barbara) Zimmerman of Narvon, Vera H. Zimmerman of Ephrata, John Jacob Zimmerman of Greenwood, WI, Eli H. (Mabel) Zimmerman of Greenwich, OH, Ivan H. (Ida) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Ella Mae (Elvin) Hoover of Ephrata, and Aaron H. (Ruth) Zimmerman of Newville.

Barbara H. Zimmerman, 87, of Leola, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at home.
She was born in East Earl to the late Isaac C. and Barbara (Horst) Martin and was the wife of David M. Zimmerman with whom she shared 14 years of marriage.
She was a member of Groffdale Frame Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).
Barbara was a homemaker.

Richland - Bonnie Zimmerman, 63, of Richland, died Monday, August 24, 2020 at home.
She was the wife of Marlin M. Zimmerman. They celebrated their 44th anniversary on May 8, 2020.
Born in Ephrata, on January 17, 1957, she was a daughter of Ira Z. and Anna M. (Newswanger) Ginder, of Denver, PA.
A 1974 Graduate of Cocalico High School, Bonnie worked for over 30 years at Jubilee Ministries. She was a member of Schubert Mennonite Church. Bonnie enjoyed bookkeeping and reading.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bonnie is survived by her siblings, Robin husband of Mim Ginder of Lititz, Wendy wife of Michael Shupp of Denver, & Holly wife of Roy Landis of Lancaster; 13 nieces and nephews.

Doris J. Zimmerman, 60, of 607 Dwight Rd., Denver, died Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. Her husband of 39 years, Lewis H. Zimmerman, survives.
Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late David S. and V. Mildred (Sensenig) Musser.
Doris served the community as a bus driver for Hinkletown Mennonite School for 23 years. She was also a member of Park View Mennonite Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by seven children: Justin R. married to Rachel A. (Stuckey) Zimmerman, Denver; Jeremy L. Zimmerman, Terre Hill; Jolynn married to Jason Friesen, Lott, TX; Jordan L. Zimmerman, Marietta; Joshua D. married to Lisa M. (Massey) Zimmerman, Denver, CO; Jevin S. married to Amanda (Pierce) Zimmerman, Lancaster; Jared L. married to Maryann (Bowser) Zimmerman, Hudson, FL; 15 grandchildren and eight siblings: Eugene S. married to Martha Musser, Lititz; Mary Jane married to Arthur Hoover, Blue Ball; David S. Musser, Ephrata; Brenda married to Aaron Burkholder, Lititz; Gerald married to Darla Musser, Ephrata; Merle married to Vera Musser, Ephrata; Wilmer married to Janelle Musser, Ephrata; Joanne married to Ray Martin, Myerstown.

November 3, 1930 - October 31, 2020
Miss Faye Etta Zimmerman, eighty nine years eleven months and twenty eight days, passed away at 8:55 A.M. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the home of her nephew Kermit and Elsie Zimmerman, where she had lived for the past 18 months.
She accepted Christ as her Savior in her youth and was a faithful member of the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church until her death.
She was born on November 3, 1930 near New Paris, Indiana to Phares and Martha (Martin) Zimmerman. She lived her whole life in northern Indiana working in manufacturing. She retired from Mastercraft in the mid-1990s to care for her ageing father.
She is survived by a sister Lena Naomi (Thomas) Miller of Middlebury Indiana, a brother Elvin Zimmerman of Dalton Ohio, 3 nieces, 7 nephews, 39 grandnieces and grandnephews, and 5 great grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Anna Marie (Titus) Ramer, a nephew Willard Zimmerman, a grandnephew Adron Zimmerman.
Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Harrison Christian School, 64784 CR 11 Goshen, IN 46526, on Friday, November 6, 2020. A funeral service will be held 10 am, Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church, 25012 CR 38 Goshen, IN 46526 with a viewing 1 hour prior. Harold Z. Zimmerman, Jr., 79, of Woodbury, passed away on October 25, 2020 at UPMC Altoona. He was born on September 25, 1941 in Bareville, PA; son of the late Harold B. and Annie G. (Zimmerman) Zimmerman. On November 20, 1962 in Leola, PA, he was united in marriage to Mary H. (Weaver) Zimmerman who survives. Harold was a member of the New Enterprise Old Order Mennonite Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother Paul Zimmerman.

Keith Zimmerman, VMD, 45, died Monday, July 13, 2020 surrounded by family after a year-long illness. His life was filled with dairy cows, children, hard work, and the desire to do right and support justice. Katrina, his wife, will miss his sarcasm, his dedication to family, and his endless new projects he planned. Keith's children, Tyree, Moses, and Imani were blessed to have him as a father. Keith also leaves behind sisters, Diana and Anita, brother, Neil (wife Lisa), and his mother, Alma. He was preceded in death by his father, David.

Laban George Zimmerman Jr. , 74, of Mt. Pleasant, MI, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at his home. He was born November 20, 1945, in Mechanicsburg, PA, son of the late Laban G. and Emma (Longenecker) Zimmerman. He married Martha Faye Kreider on October 7, 1967, in East Petersburg, PA.
Laban was a member of the Spring Creek Mennonite Church Rosebush, MI., where he served as deacon.
He is survived by six children, Stephen George (Teresa) Zimmerman of Canfield, OH, Michael Alan (Twila) Zimmerman of Canton, OH, Carla Faye (Wesley) Reinford of Nisland, SD, Daniel Eugene (Rosene) Zimmerman of Mt. Leah H. Zimmerman, 84, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 30, 2020, two months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.
She was born on January 7, 1936, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Henry W. and Leah Horning Martin.
On November 23, 1957 Leah married Levi N. Zimmerman and they lived in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania for fifteen years before relocating to Rutledge, Missouri, where they farmed for twenty-one years.
In 1994 they moved to Paris, Missouri and lived there until 2011, when they returned to a house on the farm to be close to their family.
Leah was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She had a special love for children and will be remembered by many as a friend who had an open door and a helping hand.
Leah was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.

Leroy was born April 4, 1935 in Ephrata, PA, to the late Elam and Katie (Nolt) Zimmerman. He married Laura M. (Zeiset) on February 11, 1960. Leroy was a retired farmer and was a member of the Martindale Old Order Mennonite Church.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Laura; 9 children: Allen (Lucy) Zimmerman of Shiloh, Lena (Mervin) Zimmerman of Shelby, Lloyd (Mary) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Ruth (Allen) Hoover of Shiloh, Martha (James) Zimmerman of Shelby, Erma (Amos) Leinbach of Greenwich, Lucy (Martin) Sauder of Shiloh, Elam (Emma) Zimmerman of Ephrata, and Rachel Zimmerman of Ephrata; 68 grandchildren; 111 great-grandchildren; 5 brother; 5 sisters; 5 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Leroy will be held both in Ohio and Pennsylvania. In Ohio, guest are welcome on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 9:30 AM at Bloomingrove Old Order Mennonite Church, Free Road, Shiloh, OH with Bishop Alvin Hoover and the home ministry team officiating. In Pennsylvania, the family will receive friends and family on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Leroy's son Elam's home, 107 Mill Road, Ephrata, PA 17522. Matthew B. Zimmerman, infant son of Ray Lynn and Susie (Burkholder) Zimmerman, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg.
In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by two brothers, Shane Ray Zimmerman, Cordell B. Zimmerman, both at home; paternal grandparents, Ivan N. and Lucy (Martin) Zimmerman of Ephrata; maternal grandparents, John Z. and Mabel (Hoover) Burkholder of Leola; paternal great-grandmother, Vera M. Zimmerman of New Holland and maternal great-grandfather, Paul N. Burkholder.
He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandfather, Lloyd H. Zimmerman; paternal great-grandparents, John R. and Nora Martin; maternal great-grandmother, Frances Burkholder and maternal great-grandparents, Ivan and Susie (Groff) Hoover.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Groffdale Frame Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Mildred H. Zimmerman, 48, of Denver, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at home.
She was born in West Reading to Walter K. and Etta H. (Hoover) Wise of Womelsdorf and was the wife of Gary L. Zimmerman with whom she shared 26 years of marriage.
She was a member of Springville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).
In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred is survived by seven children, Loretta W., wife of Anthony Hoover of Myerstown, Marilyn W., wife of Russell L. Martin of Fleetwood, Wesley W., husband of Mary E. (Hoover) Zimmerman of Denver, Judith W., Andrew W., Melissa W., and Rachel W. Zimmerman, all at home, and 2 late infants, Jordan and Jolan Zimmerman; three grandchildren, Weston Z. Hoover, Derek Z. Hoover,and Laurel B. Martin; six siblings, Lester H. Wise, husband of Roseann of Romulus, NY, Marlene H., wife of Rufus L. Zimmerman of Manheim, Kenneth H. Wise, husband of Mary Fern of Myerstown, Wilmer H. Wise, husband of Marlene of Womelsdorf, Janice H., wife of Glen Hoover of Myerstown, and Clair H. Wise, husband of Mary Ann of Womelsdorf.

The Rev. Norman L. Zimmerman, 87, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Norman was born in Hummelstown, PA on December 20, 1932 to the late Paul M. Zimmerman, Sr. and Naomi (Longenecker) Zimmerman.
Norman enjoyed serving his community in many different ways. He founded Zimmerman's Automotive in 1958 when he saw a need in Upper Allen Township for an automotive service center. He was also a founding member of Camp Hebron in Halifax, PA. Norman served as an ordained Mennonite minister at Slate Hill Mennonite Church in Camp Hill and served as a volunteer for the Upper Allen Township Fire Department. Serving his community was of great importance to him and he passed this drive on to his children and grandchildren. Norman was a very kind and gentle man. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his first wife Emma Jean (Hertzler) Zimmerman. Norman is survived by his wife, Betty (Gerber) Zimmerman, his children Keith L. Zimmerman and his wife Cindy, Cynthia J. Musselman and her husband Gary, Judith A. Walter and her husband Jeffrey all of Mechanicsburg, Kristina M. Wagner and her husband Allen of Dillsburg, and Marcella J. Zimmerman and her husband Linford Martin of Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a great granddaughter on the way. Norman is also survived by his six siblings Erma M. Sollenberger of Mechanicsburg, George L. Zimmerman of Thompsontown, Grace M. Wallet, Paul M. Zimmerman, Jr., Jay M. Zimmerman all of Mechanicsburg, and Eunice E. Martin of Ephrata, PA.

Paul M. Zimmerman, 92, of Lititz, passed into the presence of Jesus on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at his home.
Born in Frogtown, PA, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Mary M. (Martin) Zimmerman. Paul was the loving husband of Emma Z. (Sensenig) Zimmerman who passed away in 2004.
He will be greatly missed by his seven children; Marlin Ray, husband of Mary S. Zimmerman, Nora Jane, wife of Marlin Martin, Mary Ann, wife of Harvey Fox, Carla Mae, wife of Neal Shirk, Paul Eugene, husband of Brenda H. Zimmerman, Emma Joyce, wife of Gary Sauder, Grace Elaine, wife of Fred High and Tony Rivera whom he considered his son; 34 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three infant sons; three grandsons; one great-grandson; two brothers, Elmer and Martin Zimmerman; three sisters, Edna Martin, Clara Martin and Kathryn Seibel.
Paul enjoyed farming all his life which he did until he was 85, but his greatest passion was being an ambassador for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Even in his final days, he turned many conversations to Jesus and what the Lord had done in his life. One of the highlights of his later years were the many friends he learned to know on "the bench" at Paul B's for whom he often prayed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 10:30 AM, at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Martindale. There will be no public viewing. Interment will take place in Weaverland Frame Mennonite Cemetery.

Paul Nolt Zimmerman, 89, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away from this life July 3, 2020, at his home in Rutledge, Missouri, surrounded by family.
Paul was born on July 25, 1930, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the son of Abraham and Ada Zimmerman.
On November 8,1953 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, Paul married Lydia Martin.
In March 1973, Paul and Lydia moved to Missouri to make their home. He was a dairy farmer and owned and operated the “Zimmerman Store” in Rutledge, Missouri, since 1974.
They were members of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lydia of Rutledge, Missouri; five sons, Glenn of Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, Irwin and Frances, Paul Jr. and Elaine, Luke and Savilla, Nathan and Mary Joyce all of Rutledge, Missouri; four daughters, Ellanor Zimmerman, Verna Haldeman of Rutledge, Missouri, Anna Zimmerman of Maysville, West Virginia and Rachel and Stanley Weiler of Edina, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Sandra (Leonard) of Queen City, Missouri and Lucinda (Enos) of Greentop, Missouri; a brother, Titus and Geraldine Zimmerman; two sisters, Ada and Lloyd Sensenig, Anna and Marvin Rieff; a foster sister, Carmen Forney; four sisters-in-law, Edith (Jonas) Zimmerman, Julia (George) Zimmerman, Irma (Enos) Zimmerman, Alma (David) Zimmerman. Also surviving are sixty-three grandchildren; sixty-six great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Leonard and Enos; a son-in-law, Harry Haldeman; nine brothers and six sisters-in-law, Jonas, Noah and Joanna, Abram and Edna, Harvey and Louella, Levi and Leah, George, Enos, Ivan and Marian, David, and Kathy Zimmerman; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary, Alta, Frances and Amos Zimmerman and two grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. at the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the Hillcrest Mennonite Community Center south of Memphis, Missouri.
Clergy will be Carl Hoover, Abner Oberholtzer, Charles Zimmerman and Calvin Hoover. Pall Bearers will be Glenn Zimmerman, Irwin Zimmerman, Paul Jr. Zimmerman, Luke Zimmerman, Nathan Zimmerman and Stanley Weiler.

Phyllis M. Zimmerman, 86, of 53 Circle Drive, Lititz, (Brethren Village) passed into eternity on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.
Born in Upper Leacock Twp., she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Erla (Hess) Bare. Phyllis worked as a Lab Technician for Lancaster Laboratories from 1966-2008. She was a member of the Conestoga Church of the Brethren, Leola where she was a past Deaconess and a Stephen Minister. Phyllis was artistic and enjoyed making church banners.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Raymond, and she will be lovingly missed by: two daughters, Lee married to Robert Murray of Seattle, WA, Jere married to Dale Zimmerman of Reinholds; a supportive grandmother to four grandchildren, Heather (Will) Song, Erin Murray, Steven (Sarah) Zimmerman, Erika (Eric) Sifford; five great-grandsons, Isaiah, Bruce, Magnus, Nolan, Rodrick; two sisters, Lois married to Eugene Hollinger of Lititz, Anna Bare of Mennonite Home; sister-in-law, Nancy Bare of Woodcrest Villa.
She was preceded in death by: a great-grandchild, Gemma Hope Sifford; and brother, R. Eugene Bare.

Reuben N. Zimmerman, 91, of 710 Chestnut Hill Road, Denver, died Monday, September 21, 2020 at his home after a brief illness.
Born in East Earl, he was a son of the late Reuben W. and Lydia S. (Newswanger) Zimmerman. His wife, Ella (Hoover) Zimmerman, died March 12, 2007.
Reuben was a farmer and a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are six children, Irvin H., married to Lydia Ann (Sauder) Zimmerman of East Earl, Luke H., married to Marian (Zimmerman) Zimmerman of Denver, Susie H., married to Amos N. Zimmerman of Mifflinburg, Ella H., married to Curvin M. Burkholder of Penn Yan, NY, Alta H., married to Alvin Z. Zeiset of East Earl, and Verna H., married to Harold H. Zimmerman of Denver; a son-in-law, Menno S. Martin of Denver; 43 grandchildren; 133 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Laura Reiff of Millmont, Mary Etta Zimmerman of Leola, Isaac, married to Ella (Burkholder) Zimmerman of Ephrata, and Ida, married to Willis Stauffer of Denver.

Sara S. Zimmerman, 81, of Mount Pleasant Mills, entered into rest at 1 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Kenneth Horst of Port Trevorton.
Born Aug. 18, 1939, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Amon B. and Mary (Shaub) Auker. On Oct. 13, 1963, she married Luke S. Zimmerman, who preceded her in death on March 19, 2010.
Sara was a homemaker.
She was a member of Stauffer Mennonite Church.

Sarah Ann Zimmerman, 80, of Memphis entered into rest on November 2, 2020 at her home following a stroke. She was born the daughter of Aaron and Amanda (Brubacher) Shirk on January 19, 1940 in Narvon, PA.
Sarah Ann married Mahlon H. Zimmerman on March 2, 1963. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2013. They lived in Pennsylvania until March 1973, when they moved to a farm near Memphis.
She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed sunsets, and did hand appliqueing until her stroke. Sara enjoyed spending time with her family, and took special interest in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, Dean Zimmerman and a child in infancy; grandsons, Mitchell High and Joash Weaver; a sister, Ruth Weiler; sisters-in-law, Janie Shirk and Marian Shirk; and brother-in-law, Mervin High.

Born in Lancaster County, PA, on May 6, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Harvey W. and Lydia (Huber) Martin. She was a member of the Richland Mennonite Church.

Susanne Z. Zimmerman, 56, of New Holland, passed away June 17, 2020 at her home following a 4-year battle with cancer.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of John Jacob Nolt of Ephrata and the late Lena N. (Zimmerman) Nolt. She was married 34 years on May 17 to Bishop Curvin Z. Zimmerman.
Susanne was a homemaker and faithfully served as a bishop's wife for 12 years. She was a member of Pequea Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving in addition to her husband and father are 6 children: Philip, married to Janelle (Martin) Zimmerman of Denver, Craig, married to Joanne (Martin) Zimmerman of Morgantown, John Michael, married to Janae (Good) Zimmerman of Narvon, Joseph Merle Zimmerman at home, Anna Maria, married to Jordan Hurst of Richland, and Sara Zimmerman at home; and 9 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22 at 9:30 AM at Pequea Mennonite Church with Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata on Sunday, June 21, 1-4 and 6-8 PM. Kindly omit flowers. Zoll, Helen Irene Martin

Helen Irene Zoll, 91, of Stevens, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Ephrata Manor.
She was born in Farmersville to the late Abel B. and Anna (Hufford) Martin and was the wife of John W. Zoll with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.
She was a member of Metzler Mennonite Church.
Helen was a seamstress. She enjoyed reading, walking, fishing and her dog, Sparky.
In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by two children, David Eugene, husband of Florence (Yousey) Zoll of Stevens, Lydia A., wife of Kenneth Portner of Murrells Inlet, SC; a daughter-in-law, Doloris (Lied) Zoll of Delaware; four siblings, Charles J., husband of the late Joanne (Wise) Martin of Ephrata, Robert H., husband of Naomi (Stolzfus) Martin of Bowmansville, Leroy, husband of Vicki (Geist) Martin of New Holland, Ruth H., wife of Eli B. Stauffer of Narvon; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glenn L. Zoll.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in the Metzler Mennonite Cemetery.

John W. Zoll, 90, of Stevens, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the home of his son.
He was born in Ephrata to the late Harvey B. and Lena H. (Weber) Zoll and was the husband of the late Helen Irene (Martin) Zoll with whom he shared 70 years of marriage before she passed away on April 28, 2020.
He was a member of Metzler's Mennonite Church.
John was a mason and volunteered in his retirement years at MCC Reuzit furniture store in Ephrata. He enjoyed hunting, puzzles, family gatherings and traveling.
John is survived by two children, David Eugene, husband of Florence (Yousey) Zoll of Stevens, Lydia A, wife of Kenneth Portner of Murrells Inlet, SC; a daughter-in-law, Dolores (Leid) Zoll of Delaware; 9 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and five siblings, Lester W., husband of Dottie (Erb) Zoll of Newmanstown, Betty Jean Martin of Farmersville, L. Arlene, wife of Clarence Martin of Leola, Evelyn, wife of Frank Lengyel of Cleveland, OH, Mabel M., wife of Tom Self of Ephrata.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn L. Zoll and 2 sisters, Anna Mae Redcay, Beatrice Zoll.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Metzler Mennonite Cemetery, 515 W. Metzler Road, Ephrata.
